Cruzeiro do Sul Airport

Cruzeiro do Sul airport integrated VINCI Airports network in January 2022 under a 30-year concession contract awarded by Brazilian civil aviation in April 2021.

As Brazil’s westernmost airport, Cruzeiro do Sul is the most important tourist and economic centre in the central Acre region. The terminal is around 15 km from the city centre and is essential for its supply. The airport is an important link between the cities of western Acre and the capital.

Cruzeiro do Sul lies on the Juruá River and is Acre’s second most populous city. Nicknamed the ‘little princess’ of the Juruá region, Cruzeiro do Sul boasts many well-preserved natural landscapes and the influence of indigenous and riverside cultures. Famous attractions include a visit to the Croa River, the Nossa Senhora da Glória Cathedral and the Serra do Divisor National Park, a conservation unit with rich biodiversity.

At the end of 2024, VINCI Airports completed modernisation works at seven airports in Brazil’s northern region, consolidating the improvements made to airport infrastructure in the Amazon.

This major works programme is part of the commitment made by VINCI Airports when it acquired the Amazon airports in 2021. A total of 1.4 billion reais worth of works have been carried out at the airports of Manaus (AM), Tefé (AM), Tabatinga (AM), Porto Velho (RO), Boa Vista (RR), Rio Branco (AC) and Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), to improve safety, accessibility, comfort and operational efficiency. These improvements offer a better passenger experience and stimulate local economic development by strengthening air links between the Amazon, Brazil and the rest of the world.
