Saint-Nazaire Montoir Airport
As an airport dedicated to the local aviation industry, Saint-Nazaire Montoir Airport is adapting to the needs of the major players in this industry. In 2019, the runway, ramps and parking areas have benefited from €15 million of investments by VINCI Airports, in order to be able to welcome the BelugaXL and thus allow the continued development of the local aeronautics industry.
In 2022, Saint-Nazaire Montoir Airport obtained level 3 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation for its greenhouse gas emission reduction policy.
Since 2023, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has been available on the airport platform. Produced from used cooking oils, the biofuel (before mixing) reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90% over the entire life cycle, compared to fossil kerosene. It is then mixed up to 30% with conventional fuel. Airbus, the airport’s main customer, uses this alternative fuel to refuel their cargo planes, the Belugas.”>Since 2023, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) has been available on the airport platform.
